The Amadeus Choir presents our first in-person concert since 2020 with "A Time to Heal".

Conducted by Kathleen Allan, this concert will bring our community together to celebrate the power of music to heal the soul in the most challenging times.

Featuring the Canadian Premiere of Cecilia McDowall's A Time for All Seasons, and the music of Gabriel Fauré, Reena Esmail, Srul Irving Glick, Tracy Wong, Nathaniel Dett, and Sherryl Sewepegaham.

Two 75 minute performances for distanced and limited-capacity audiences.

May 28th 3:30pm and 7:30pm

Doors open 30 minutes before concert time, and will feature a pre-show talk with our Artistic Director and Conductor Kathleen Allan.

Masks are required to be worn at all times while indoors at all Amadeus Choir events. All audience members are required to wear masks.

Celtic Kitchen Party

A live streamed, virtual choir and fundraising event featuring the best of Celtic music

About this event

Our annual Celtic fundraiser is back! this time, we are hosting it in the style of an east coast "Kitchen Party": good fun, good friends, and good music all come together to make this a choral music experience like no other!

You'll hear all of your Celtic music favourites sung by the choir, as well as solos, and guest artists. The party is hosted by our own Kathleen Allan, and will feature guest appearances by the members of our Amadeus Choir community to give the whole event a great party atmosphere, just in time for St. Patrick's Day!

The live streamed event will take place on March 5th. The video version of this event will be available after the live premiere until March 31st.

*Fundraising prizes are drawn on March 5th.

Portraits of Home 2: Pouya Hamidi

Pouya Hamidi is an award-winning composer, pianist, and sound engineer based in Toronto. He is adapting his composition called “Hafez” for the Amadeus Choir, piano, and daf (Persian frame drum). With text by Toronto-based Persian-Canadian poet Bänoo Zan, the piece tells the story of displacement, diaspora, and migration.

Pouya’s music is influenced by a number of sources including the music of his country of origin: Iran, Western classical and contemporary music, alternative rock music, and electronic music.

Welcome to "Survey Says", a Family Feud type game show tournament where you guess the responses from surveys to win! Gather a group of up to 6 people (from anywhere on the planet!) to form your team. You may also join as an individual or smaller group to be grouped with a team on the night of the event.

You’ll have a fun time playing and be delighted by a musical surprise. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the Amadeus community and offer your support during this unique choir season.

Portraits of Home 1: Natalie Fasheh

Natalie Fasheh is a Palestinian-Jordanian emerging choral practitioner and community-engaged artist. Her composition, “For Freedom,” is inspired by the current turmoil and rising up for human rights; from the Levant region, to Turtle Island, and Globally. It will feature Levantine vocalists Shireen Abu-Khader, Raneem Barakat, and Natalie, alongside the Amadeus Choir.
